Atmoclub inspires in Aachen: third place in the vaulting cup!
Vaulting has a long tradition in Germany, and the “Atmoclub” team from RFV Diek-Bassum impressively shows what is possible in equestrian sport. The team won a strong victory at the German Vaulting Cup, which took place recently eighth place. In an age group of 20 to 28 years, the talented vaulters competed against 35 other groups from all over Germany.
Under the leadership of Longe Sibylle Schumacher, the team with its athletes Annika Brescher, Lotte Jeltsch, Eva Luna Pax, Pia Brinkmann, Anna-Lena Schulz, Hanna Schrader and Maila Klußmann achieved an impressive performance. Despite not having their own horse, they presented themselves on the four-legged “Culcha-Candela R”, affectionately called “Carlo”, and were able to achieve remarkable placings: Third place in the compulsory and freestyle rankings testifies to their team spirit and the harmony that they could feel, especially in Aachen.
One last chance for the team
As the team itself reports, this participation was a last great opportunity for many, as work and study commitments as well as stays abroad lie ahead. But the successes in the past, like that second place at the state championship in Lamspringe and the victory at the screening tournament in Okel, led the team to a strong stay in Aachen, where they won the freestyle cup fifth place documented.
After parting ways, contact with RFV Diek-Bassum remains as Maila Klußmann remains active in the club. An almost familial bond is often emphasized, and this will not end even after the active competitions have ended.
Outlook for upcoming events
The next big event in vaulting is just around the corner: The German Vaulting Championships, which will take place from August 8th to 10th, 2025 at the Olympia riding facility in Munich. Here the best vaulters in Germany will present their skills and fight for medals.
Participants can look forward to exciting competitions and there are numerous opportunities to purchase tickets. From theWeekend ticketup toDay tickets– there is something for everyone. There are also discounts for people with disabilities and free admission for children aged 0 to 5. Face painting is also offered on Saturday and Sunday, a highlight for little horse fans.
With such exciting events, the sport of vaulting in Germany remains alive and full of energy - and the “Atmoclub” team will certainly continue to be remembered.
