Three masked robbers attack an 83-year-old in Eydelstedt!

In the tranquil Eydelstedt, a small village in the Diepholz district, an attack today caused a stir. According to information from NDR an 83-year-old man discovered that three masked perpetrators attacked him at his place of residence. The malicious people rang his doorbell, forced him inside and threatened him with a gun. The venerable gentleman was tied to a chair while the intruders searched his home for valuables.

What is particularly tragic is the fact that the attack took place at a time when neighbors should be keeping an eye on each other's well-being. An attentive neighbor watched the masked men escape and was able to find the tied up senior citizen after a short time. Luckily he was uninjured. The police, who initiated the search immediately after the attack with several patrol cars and a service dog as well as with the help of a drone from the fire department, were initially unsuccessful.

The perpetrators were described quickly: They were around 30 to 40 years old, spoke German and two of them were described as tall and strong, with blonde hair. The third perpetrator, a man who wore glasses, was around 1.70 meters tall. The Diepholz police are asking the public for information on (05441) 97 10. The case took a rapid turn as the perpetrators were caught shortly after the crime and are now in custody.

Cash and jewelry were stolen. What exactly fell into the hands of the robbers is currently unclear. The investigation is ongoing and police are trying to determine whether this crime is related to other robberies in the area.
