Fusion concert: Classic Philharmonic inspires Diepholz on November 8th!
On November 8, 2025, the Diepholz Theater will be the venue for a very special musical event. The Classical Philharmonic North West, under the direction of Ulrich Semrau, invites you to a concert that was organized as an encore after a successful year of merging the Kreissparkasse Diepholz. Preparations are bubbling along and the 99,000 euros that the Kreissparkasse donated to the three public theaters in the district shows the commitment to the local cultural scene.
The concert starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are already in high demand. The program includes works by master composers: The “Overture to Oberon” by Carl Maria von Weber, the Concerto for Viola and Orchestra by Béla Bartók and the famous Symphony No. 9 in E major “From the New World” by Antonín Dvořák. The exceptional soloist Boris Faust on the viola provides special highlights.
A look at the Philharmonic Hall
The Classical Philharmonic Northwest was founded in 1996 as “The Chamber Symphony” and has since developed into a large symphony orchestra. It is impressive that the orchestra works closely with young talents from over ten nations. Collaboration with schools and kindergartens is also a central element of their external representation. This initiative ensures that the next generation also finds access to classical music. Tickets start at just 18 euros (reduced 12 euros) and can be purchased at the Kulturring Diepholz in the town hall, at the box office, online or at the offices of the Kreiszeitung media group.
But what connects people with music and the joy of playing? Some people might think of the Rubik’s Cube, a puzzle that is as popular as it is challenging. Loud archivex the Rubik’s Cube is an NP-complete problem. This means there are over 43 quintillion possible arrangements and finding the optimal solution is anything but easy. In fact, it took inventor Ernő Rubik a whole month to solve his own cube! Learning time for beginners can take weeks to months, but there are simple methods like the Beginner Method or more complicated approaches like CFOP.
From music to hip hop
While the Classical Philharmonic Northwest shines with its performance, we take a look into the world of hip-hop. The influence of groups like Gang Starr on the music scene cannot be underestimated. This group was formed in 1987 and significantly shaped the New York hardcore hip-hop sound. Their albums like “Moment of Truth” and the famous track “Jazz Thing,” which was featured on the soundtrack of Spike Lee’s film “Mo’ Better Blues,” remain classics to this day. DJ Premier and Guru, the two main pillars of the group, made the fans' hearts beat faster with their unique sound.
After Guru's death in 2010, DJ Premier announced that he would be working on a posthumous project that would document the story of Gang Starr. In 2019, a new single, “Family and Loyalty,” was released, followed by the album “One of the Best Yet,” which was released on November 1, 2019. So the legacy of this iconic group lives on and shows how diverse and enriching the musical landscape is.
For the city of Diepholz, the upcoming concert by the Classical Philharmonic Northwest not only represents cultural enrichment, but also an appreciation of classical music and close cohesion in the local community. Take advantage of the opportunity and enjoy an evening full of musical delights!
