Bring on your lion food: Donate against food waste at the Reload Festival!”
Lions Club Sulinger Land is hosting a food donation campaign for the Sulinger Tafel at the Reload Festival (Aug. 14-16, 2025).

Bring on your lion food: Donate against food waste at the Reload Festival!”
It starts in a few days: The Reload Festival will take place in Sulingen from August 14th to 16th, 2025 and the Lions Club Sulinger Land will be there again with a special campaign. Under the motto “Bring on your lion food” they collect food donations to help the Sulinger Tafel. This comes as part of an initiative aimed at reducing food waste and supporting those in need. The district newspaper reports that festival attendees are encouraged to donate leftover, unopened, non-perishable food and non-alcoholic beverages.
The collection points will be set up on the campsites, clearly visible with banners and pavilions. Festival-goers have the option to drop off their donations there instead of taking the food home with them. “Donate instead of waste” is the motto, clear and inviting. The current president of the Lions Club, Henning Löhmann, is also pleased about the successful implementation of the project, emphasizing how much fun it is to help others in this way.
Successful premiere and great anticipation
The campaign was launched for the first time last year and was a complete success. Thomas Wolter, the then president of the Lions Club, remembers the initial skepticism of some festival goers, which soon turned into support. No “waste” food was handed out, which shows that people are willing to take responsibility and do something good together. Last year's donations mainly included food such as pasta, oatmeal, muesli and juices, i.e. exactly what the food bank often needs. Interestingly, there were fewer canned ravioli, which makes the willingness to donate even more remarkable. On the Lions Club website There is further information about this year's campaign.
The implementation of this idea came quickly after a presentation at the club and shows how committed the members are. Inspired by events like the Hurricane Festival in Scheeßel, they discovered that similar activities were also successfully carried out at other festivals. The organizing team of the Reload Festival is optimistic and expects a lively participation.
A step against food waste
The initiative is not only a benefit for the Sulinger Tafel, but also a small but important contribution to reducing food waste. Loud BMLEH In Germany, a huge amount of food that is still edible is thrown away every year. Campaigns like “Bring on your Lion Face” can help raise awareness of this issue while helping people in need.
So be there and support this valuable initiative at the Reload Festival in Sulingen. Your donation can make a real difference and every small gesture counts!
