TuS Zetel exceeds expectations: best times at the holiday sports festival!
Good news from the world of athletics: The athletes of TuS Zetel ended their summer break with personal best times at the holiday sports festival in Oldenburg. Coach Anette Döring-Schulte expressed her satisfaction with the results, even if they haven't quite reached their usual form yet. Jasmin Schade particularly stands out, finishing seventh in the 100 meters in 14.36 seconds.
Schade also celebrated her debut in the 200 meters and secured third place with a time of 29.41 seconds, behind Tjalda Gertje and Emma Janssen, who also achieved personal bests. Gertje also threw her hat into the ring in the 400 meters, where she finished fifth in 63.09 seconds, while Janssen took seventh place with 68.84 seconds.
Convincing achievements in several disciplines
Fenja Ihmels caused a stir over 3000 meters and won her age group in a time of 13:24.96 minutes. Hanna Ihmels fought for first place in the 800 meters in the W14 age group with a super personal best time of 2:52.17 minutes. Jasmin Schade also cut a good figure in the long jump and took second place in the W15 age group with 4.59 meters.
Particularly noteworthy was the performance of Uwe Schmalstieg, who competed in the M80 age group to qualify for the German championships. He achieved a standard time of 6:41.16 minutes over 1500 meters in Delmenhorst and secured a standard time of 3:17.03 minutes over 800 meters in Oldenburg. Schmalstieg is now qualified for both routes and is another example of how endurance and training pay off.
A look at the German records
The list of German athletics records is dominated by legends like Marita Koch and Marlies Göhr, who hold the most records in the sprint area. The records reflect the best performances of German athletes in various disciplines, including those that are also world or European records. A distinction is made between the records between best performances achieved at German championships and those at state association level.
Current records such as Owen Ansah's 100 m record of 9.99 seconds or Robert Farken's 1500 m record of 3:30.80 minutes show how high the standard of performance is in German athletics. These values not only cause excitement in the scene, but also show the athletes' enormous potential to defy suspicion of doping and other challenges. As the DLV makes clear, all records must be handled conscientiously and regardless of sporting circumstances in order to preserve the integrity of the sport.
