Gifhorn Old Town Festival: Three days full of music and magical moments!

The 44th Gifhorn Old Town Festival was a real feast for the senses this year and attracted many visitors! Mayor Matthias Nerlich opened the event on Friday evening at 6 p.m., whereupon a colorful program unfolded that thrilled young and old alike. The streets were busy and throughout the event the rainbow that adorned the city center on Saturday was a beautiful symbol of the good vibes.

A highlight was the Junior Old Town Festival, in which many children and young people were actively involved. Cheerleaders and dancers showed off their skills on stage, while the band “Code 75” delighted guests with a surprising name change. Stars like Senta-Sofia Delliponti, better known as Oonagh from “Good Times, Bad Times,” also mingled with the crowd and presented their new album. Delliponti also remembered performing on the town hall stage herself 21 years ago.

Musical diversity and entertainment

The musical offering was wide-ranging. Many of the artists performing come from the Gifhorn district, including the band Creeperhead and the popular cult band “B and the Rattlesnake”. The Sturmer Deluxe from Wolfsburg and the Big Maggas also contributed to the musical entertainment. The stage at Georgshof, presented by the Wittingen private brewery, was the central focal point for the musical highlights of the festival.

Culinary delights and alternative program

The food wasn't neglected either: the festival's most popular cocktail was “Sex on the Beach,” and a new cocktail stand with regional juices and spirits became popular. In addition to the musical program, the festival offered alternative offerings such as a media flea market, a chess tournament, a Ferris wheel and a fine theater piece.

In summary, one can say that the Gifhorn Old Town Festival 2025 was a complete success. Thanks to the participation of many actors from the area and a colorful mix of entertainment, culinary delights and children's programs, an unforgettable celebration was celebrated. The next event, which will certainly attract many rockabilly fans, is the Rockabilly Days, which will take place in Asperg this year and can also hope for a lively response. Organized by a dedicated team dedicated to preserving the rock'n'roll style, there is sure to be a great atmosphere there too.
