Petersson and Findus inspire at the Junges Theater Göttingen!

The Young Theater in Göttingen set a real highlight for the whole family last Saturday with the premiere of “Petersson, Findus and the Rooster”. [HNA]. Director Nico Dietrich staged the piece with a lot of creativity and commitment.

The performance began with the cheerful sounds of a bicycle bell and the appearance of three characters in colorful overalls who set out to search for the missing rooster Caruso. The acting students Ronja Politz, Jerome Küster and Justin Marcel Große took on various roles and also acted as narrators. In addition to the exciting plot, which deals with the topic of jealousy, among other things, the stage design with an apple tree, a house and a chicken coop also offered visual highlights.

A musical experience

The musical elements of the production were also convincing: excerpts such as the “Morning Mood” from the Peer Gynt Suite and a love duet from the opera “Carmen” contributed to the special atmosphere. The performance lasts a total of 50 minutes and impresses with its well-thought-out design.

The piece is not only a tradition at the Junges Theater Göttingen, but also opened up space for fresh talent. Since its opening on September 4, 1957, the theater has played an important role in promoting new artists and offers a wide range of events, which now include around 300 dates per season. The niches between contemporary productions, readings and concerts also reflect the theater's claim to always remain innovative (Junges Theater).

nights for the next performances

The Children and Youth Theater Center (KJTZ), which was founded in 1989, plays an essential role in documenting and promoting performing arts for young audiences in Germany. It houses a comprehensive collection of materials that document the development of children's and youth theater and act as cultural memory (Young Audience).

The Junge Theater Göttingen not only impresses with its productions, but also with a look at theater history and an offering that inspires and delights young viewers. It remains exciting to see which new productions and talents will take to the stage next.
