Big children's day at Nordhorn Zoo: flea market and stuffed animal clinic!

An exciting event is coming! OnSunday June 29, 2025, it opens Nordhorn Zoo its goals for the big children's day, which promises to be a real hit for the whole family. The highlight of the day is a large children's flea market9 a.mopens its doors and invites little sellers and their parents to sell “children’s bric-a-brac”.

A ticket is required to enter the zoo, but don't worry for annual pass holders - entry is free for them! The conditions of sale are simple: only children's things by children can be sold here. So the small traders will have the great joy of passing on their treasures and perhaps doing a good deal.

A day full of activities

In addition to the hustle and bustle at the flea market, beekeeping day will be another highlight of the day. From10 a.m. to 5 p.mpresents the Beekeeping Association of the County of Bentheim Everything about the exciting world of bees in the apiary. Honey production is even demonstrated live in a show-extraction room. This is sure to delight the little naturalists!

Another integral part of Children's Day is the stuffed animal clinic, also run by10 a.m. to 5 p.mis open. Here children can have their beloved cuddly toys examined by real veterinarians. The process is very realistic - the little ones can register their stuffed animals in the waiting room before they go for the examination. There is even an x-ray room available if a broken limb is suspected!

Entertainment and activities for everyone

To make the day perfect, the zoo offers entertainment for lots of fun. There will be exciting demonstrations by the police, fire brigade, the Maltese emergency service and a rescue dog team on the upper Vechtewiese. This is not only exciting, but also educational!

Families can also look forward to bouncy castles and pony rides on the lower Vechtewiese. The support association provides additional attractions with a chocolate kiss machine and candle making, which are very popular with both children and adults.
