Painting competition for children: County of Bentheim – My Home” starts!
A painting competition for the region's creative minds will soon be starting in the enchanting county of Bentheim. Under the motto “County of Bentheim – My Home,” all children are invited to capture their personal view of their homeland in pictures. The organizers, the Uelsen community and the VGH insurance agency Stiepel & Hollmann GmbH, invite small artists to submit their works to Uelsen Touristik, Altes Rathaus, Am Markt 7, Uelsen by July 23rd. Participants can submit their artwork in A4 and A3 formats and should write their name, address, telephone number, age and a short description of the image on the back. If you would like to find out more about the levy, you can find information directly at Uelsen Touristik.
The submitted works of art will be exhibited during the Grafschafter Pet and Farm Animal Day, which will take place on Friday, July 26th, in Uelsen. Here all visitors can cast their vote to choose the best pictures. Prizes are awarded for each participant group in three age categories – up to 6 years, 7 to 9 years and from 10 years. The young artists can look forward to toy vouchers and, as the main prize, a cash prize of 100 euros for first place. The awards ceremony will take place on the same day at around 4 p.m., followed by a colorful supporting program with children's rallies, toy mobiles and pony rides.
Insight into the children's and youth art scene
The painting competition isn't the only creative event for children in the county. Since 2010, the Grafschaft Bentheim Children's and Youth Art Prize has been held every two years. The aim of this competition is to create a platform for young artists to showcase their creative talents. Registrations are possible via a special form, whereby the works of art must be created individually. The last competitions have shown that over 300 young talents from the region are actively participating, with topics ranging from “new to me” to “DEEP”. Here too, an independent jury will evaluate the works and award prizes. Further information can be found on the [Kiju Kunst] website (https://www.kijukunst-grafschaftbentheim.de/willkommen.html).
As in the past, the Grafschafter Pet and Farm Animal Day is very popular. In addition to animal shows with various animal species such as the colorful Bentheim pigs and donkeys, there is also a market with regional specialties. Here, visitors can stock up on local products and discover the diverse offerings that create a great atmosphere. The event on July 27, 2013 was a complete success and marked the first of its kind in the region - now the 5th Grafschafter Pet and Farm Animal Day is just around the corner and the anticipation is growing. This year too, the little artists are cordially invited to prepare their pictures for submission and to take part in the lively exhibition.
Overall, the variety of offers and competitions in the county of Bentheim shows that creativity and community play a major role. The opportunity for children to show their talents and express themselves creatively is encouraged here in a special way. Whether painting or taking part in art competitions – the region offers a colorful program for all art lovers, young and old.
