New seminar series in the Harburg district strengthens volunteerism and commitment!
Something is happening in the world of volunteer work in the Harburg district! A new series of seminars will start in September and will provide strong support for civic engagement. The Agency for Volunteering has put together an exciting training program together with the district adult education center (KVHS) that is aimed at all volunteers. The first seminars begin on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with an information event for parent representatives, which will take place in the KVHS house in Maschen, as Seevetal Aktuell reports.
Volunteer representative Birthe Gutjahr emphasizes how important the commitment of citizens is to social interaction. A wide range of topics is offered - from the rights and obligations according to the Lower Saxony School Act to self-care and press work. These events are a great opportunity for volunteers to deepen knowledge and learn new skills.
Diverse program for volunteers
The training program under the motto “Learn together – move more” includes a total of ten seminars that run until January 2026. In addition to the introduction for parent representatives on September 6th, it continues with:
All seminars take place in the KVHS-Haus Maschen, Schulkamp 11a - a central location for anyone interested.
Funding for club training
A special treat for the clubs: The district also supports internal training courses with up to 75 percent of the speaker costs. This makes it even easier to promote your own membership qualifications and bring a breath of fresh air into the club's work. Registration is easy and can be done online, by phone or by email, as Harburg District explains.
Not to be forgotten are the numerous other educational opportunities that can be found in the region. For example, the Lower Saxony Volunteer Academy offers a free qualification program for volunteer pilots and the DUO neighborhood program supports everyday companions with further training opportunities.
In times when civic engagement forms the cornerstone of our society, such training offers are like a breath of fresh air that invigorates the activities of volunteers. Now all you have to do is secure a place quickly - because the need to expand knowledge and support each other is now more important than ever. With a clear goal in mind, every initiative, no matter how small, can make a big difference!
