On Tuesday evening, October 29, 2025, a disturbing incident occurred on Vorsfelder Straße in Helmstedt. Scaffolding that stood on a former fire ruin was in danger of falling over. At 6:51 p.m., the fire chief was alerted by the service to check the situation and take appropriate action. The danger could not be underestimated because the scaffolding was dangerously crooked and could have tipped over into the traffic area at any time.
The Helmstedt local fire department responded quickly and was supported in its work by an expert advisor from the Technical Relief Agency (THW). Together they set about checking the unstable scaffolding so that it could then be dismantled and secured. Vorsfelder Straße was completely closed throughout the operation to ensure the safety of all road users.
