Day tour to Lüneburg: discover pioneers in the city's history!

On October 16, 2025, the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg will be the destination of an exciting day trip organized by the equal opportunities officer of the city of Helmstedt and the municipality of Lehr. A highlight of this event is the city tour under the title “Lüneburg Women – Regional Pioneers”, where participants can immerse themselves in the stories of inspiring women.

The departures are well planned: the departure in Helmstedt is at 7:15 a.m. from the “An der Masch”/Schützenplatz parking lot, while the departure in Lehr is at 7:45 a.m. from the market square. After an informative and entertaining city tour, there is lunch together at the KRONE Brauhaus, where guests can choose from seven different dishes, including a vegetarian option. Afterwards there is enough free time to explore the charming city center of Lüneburg. The return journey is scheduled for around 5:30 p.m.

A good deal for everyone!

If you want to take part in this trip, you can get a ticket for 44 euros per person, which includes the bus ride, city tour and lunch. Important to know: Drinks are not included in the price. In addition, 16 additional tickets are currently available at short notice, so that even those who decide at short notice can book their place.

The cards can be purchased at the Citizens Information Office or in the secretariat during the opening hours of the town hall. Please note that a maximum of two tickets will be sold per person and a cash payment in appropriate money is required. If you have any questions, Lisa-Marie Westphal, the equal opportunities officer for the municipality of Lehr, is available on 05308 699-20 or by email at egalstellung@gemeinde-lehre.de.

The role of the equal opportunities officer

The initiators of this day trip were not chosen at random. Karin Fischer, the equal opportunities officer for the Hanseatic City of Lüneburg, has the important task of actively contributing to gender equality. It has a constitutional mandate to participate in local decisions, programs and measures that affect the status of women and men. Her role is diverse: As a guardian and source of inspiration, she advocates for equality in all areas of life, be it in urban planning, mobility or labor market policy.

As the initiative by Helmstedt and Lehr shows, municipal equal opportunities officers are a key to fairer coexistence. They not only advise the Hanseatic city council, but also provide impulses for equality in order to promote a positive reality for women and girls, who are often affected by multiple discrimination. Their work aims to prevent intimate partner violence and ensure safety in public spaces.

This day trip is not only an opportunity for education and exchange, but also a step in the right direction in gender equality policy. So if you're interested, you shouldn't hesitate for long - a good hand at booking tickets could prove to be an advantage!
