June 18, 2025 is a very special day for the married couple Christine and August Wennemann from Fürstenberg. The Wennemanns have been living in a cozy apartment on the second floor with a view of the Köterberg and their old home in Fürstenau for eight years. A look back shows that August 1934 saw the light of day in Fürstenau, while Christine was born in 1936. Their first meeting took place at a theater performance in 1952, and just three years later, on June 18, 1955, they tied the knot.

The family at the center

Their marriage produced two sons, Michael and Rainer, who enriched the couple's life. Today they are the proud grandparents of three grandchildren and can enjoy the enthusiasm of six great-grandchildren. Their life together is characterized by respect, humor and a keen sense of the right tone, which counts more than ever in times like these.

Christine found her professional fulfillment after graduating from commercial school as an office clerk, while August began an apprenticeship as a tailor but later switched to construction. He took his last professional steps in furniture production before taking his well-deserved retirement more than 20 years ago. In her free time, Christine devoted herself to singing in the church choir and doing crafts over the years.
