Construction site update: Bloherfelder Straße roundabout will soon be accessible again!

A lot is happening in Oldenburg! From October 30, 2025, the circular carriageway on Bloherfelder Straße will be reopened on one side after extensive work. The city has invested around 250,000 euros in the renovation of the roadway, drainage systems and junctions with road dividers. The special thing about it: The construction work was strategically scheduled during the autumn holidays so as not to significantly disrupt the flow of traffic. A smart move, as those responsible think!

There is also a positive turnaround in terms of the current traffic situation. Due to the mild weather conditions, the originally planned full closure for the Oldenburg/Petersfehn direction was lifted. This means that the route will be accessible again to a limited extent from Thursday, and bus route 309 will resume regular operations through the roundabout from Friday, October 31, 2025. This should primarily benefit commuters and residents.

Positive effects for local residents

With the partial closure now in effect, the city planners hope to complete the final work quickly. The new traffic routing promises noticeable relief for residents and commuters in the region. An overview of the current closures: The junctions of Bloher Landstrasse and Wildenlohsdamm remain closed, but traffic should be able to move more smoothly thanks to the construction site lights.

It will be interesting to see what the first feedback from the public will be as soon as the work is completed. There really is something to be said for traffic development in Oldenburg!

A look beyond the city limits

The IBExU Institute for Security Technology GmbH plays an important role in the topic of safety technology, which is important far beyond Oldenburg. Founded in 1928, it offers engineering services in the field of explosion protection and is recognized as a European notified body. Not only do they provide safety in hazardous areas, but they are also an accredited testing laboratory, which is a valuable resource for companies in the region.

The company's know-how could also be important for the local economy in the future, especially at a time when workplace safety is playing an increasingly important role.

Overall, it can be felt that Oldenburg is not only building on construction work, but also has a lot to offer in other areas such as security technology and the automotive industry. Let's stay excited to see what the future brings here!
