Kora Heißenberg: Wardenburg's new voice in the FDP district council!

There was a happy occasion in Wardenburg today that should please not only local politicians, but also the citizens. Kora Heißenberg from Benthullen was elected to the district council of the Oldenburg district, succeeding Dirk Wintermann (FDP), who gave up his seat. The official handover took place at a meeting of the local council, where she was also presented with flowers as a welcome. NWZonline reports that parliamentary group colleague Peter Puschmann warmly congratulated her on her new position and referred to her over 1,000 votes in the local elections.

With Kora Heißenberg in the district council, Wardenburg now has four representatives in the district parliament. The “Wardenburger Riege” consists of Hajo Suhr (CDU), Prof. Dr. Jörg Buddenberg (Alliance 90/The Greens), Werner Wulf (SPD) and now Kora Heißenberg (FDP). The new MP will be active between the various committees in which important issues are being prepared. This also includes her role in the Integration and Equal Opportunities Committee as well as in the Structure and Climate Protection Committee.

How oldenburg-kreis.de explained, the district council consists of 50 representatives and the district administrator, with its main tasks being regulated in Section 58 of the Lower Saxony Municipal Constitutional Act (NKomVG). The district council meetings usually take place quarterly and the deliberations are generally public.

The district council is currently composed as follows:

fraction Number of members

Kora Heißenberg: An experienced voice for the citizens

Kora Heißenberg brings a lot of experience to the new position. She has been a member of the Wardenburg local council since 2001 and has made a name for herself there as chairwoman of the FDP parliamentary group and the sports committee. In addition, she is the spokesperson for the FDP/FWG group and chairwoman of the Prevention Council, which shows that she has already shown a lot of commitment to the community.

Through her new tasks in the district council, she will not only represent the interests of Wardenburg, but also actively work on important issues in district politics. It is worth taking a look at the developments in the district council, especially with regard to the changes in the Lower Saxony Municipal Constitutional Act, which has been in force since 2011. This regulation brings with it important innovations such as longer terms of office for chief administrative officers, which are intended to increase stability in the administration.
