With music and fun: children's concert in the Oldenburg State Theater inspires!
The Oldenburg State Theater invites little music lovers to a special experience. As part of the children's concerts under the motto “Music with depth”, the focus is on the bassoon, along with the cello and double bass. Moderator Emilia Durka, who presents her performances in the style of the 18th century, ensures that the little ones not only listen but also actively get excited.
Under the direction of conductor Theresa Kellner, the state orchestra plays with joy and enthusiasm. The program includes works by master composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whose bassoon concerto in B major will be heard, as well as Joseph Haydn's first cello concerto in C major and the double bass concerto in D major by Johann Baptist Vanhal. The concert promises a colorful mix of classical and modern pieces such as “Fly me to the moon” and “Tango Bolero”. The crowning conclusion is Haydn's 45th Symphony, which is presented to the children in a memorable way as a “farewell symphony”.
An interactive experience for the little ones
What would a concert be without a little humor? Tamo, the dyke sheep, provides fun interactions and gives the little listeners the opportunity to get involved. Studies show how important musical experiences are for children's development. Participatory concerts offer the chance to become an active part of the event. Here the children can clap, sing and express themselves creatively, which promotes social and motor skills! According to the website kidskulturspass.de, children learn about classical instruments in a playful way and experience how music awakens emotions.
A lot has happened in recent years under the direction of Emilia Durka: the children's concerts have developed positively and offer a platform that includes both classical music and contemporary pieces. The next big event entitled “Fiesta Mexicana” will follow on May 17th and is already in the starting blocks.
Children as main characters
In another remarkable concert format recently presented by the Saarland State Orchestra, children took center stage. As part of the student concert “The Dung Beetle”, which took place in the Ellipse of the State Academy, 200 children experienced a musical production of the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. Conductor Ulrich Cornelius Maier introduced the bassoon as the main instrument. Here too, interaction with the audience, led by theater teacher Johanna Schatke, was an important part of the concert experience. Such formats not only underline the educational value of concerts, but also show how important it is to introduce children to music.
Overall, such performances help to stimulate interest in classical music and provide children with a creative outlet. The combination of fun and learning has proven itself and is a valuable addition to musical education.
We look forward to many more inspiring concerts in the future!
