Christmas magic in Oldenburg: Festive lighting starts soon!

The anticipation of the Christmas season is growing in Oldenburg, as preparations for the festive atmosphere in the city center are already in full swing. On Monday evening, Jörg Harders and his colleague Christian Westie started work on the Christmas lights. For years, your team has ensured that the city shines in festive splendor during Advent. This year they have also chosen a few streets that will be equipped with Advent lights. Luminous escapes include Heiligengeiststraße, Lange Straße, Kurwickstraße, Achternstraße, Schüttingstraße, Haarenstraße and the enchanting Nikolaiviertel.

Two financing partners are needed to implement these festive measures. The homeowners and dealers from “Together for Oldenburg” are providing 35,000 euros, while the city of Oldenburg is also contributing 25,000 euros. This can create an atmospheric atmosphere that citizens and visitors can enjoy.

times of lighting

The Advent lights will shine every day from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. from the opening of the Lambertimarkt on November 25th and will provide a Christmas atmosphere until January 1st.

But there is news not only in Oldenburg, there is also a lot happening in the area of pharmaceutical logistics. The International Air Transport Association (IATA), in collaboration with leading authorities, has conducted research to improve the transport of COVID-19 vaccines. Important documents were developed that summarize the considerations for handling and air transport of vaccines. The IATA Temperature Control Regulations (TCR), which support the industry on temperature management issues, are particularly relevant.

A crucial component of these regulations is the Time and Temperature Sensitive Label, which has been mandatory since July 2012 for all shipments that are considered temperature-sensitive. The IATA Standard Acceptance Checklist, which has been available for the transport of healthcare supplies since July 2013, is also binding. With this approach, IATA wants to ensure that pharmaceutical products can be transported in the highest quality and safety.

Innovative standards for the industry

The Healthcare Cargo Working Group (HCWG) is committed to providing recommendations for the development of standards for the transport and handling of healthcare cargo. Additional focus is on the standards for battery-powered devices that work with COVID-19 vaccines. IATA has also launched the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) in Pharmaceutical Logistics to further optimize transport and handling standards.

Both topics – the festive preparations in Oldenburg and the new standards in pharmaceutical logistics – show how important community and safety are. As the city prepares for a contemplative season, the health sector is also working towards a better future. A good hand in planning and implementation plays an important role here and there.
