Another great success for Algerian football: The JS Kabylie qualified for the group stage of the Africa Champions League with an impressive performance. In the first game, the kickers from Tizi-Ouzou clearly won 3-0 against the US Monastir in Tunisia. The decisive playmaker was Lahlou Akhrib, who contributed two goals - once in the 8th minute and the other in stoppage time (90+3).
In the second leg, which took place at the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium, the Kabylie players once again showed their strength and won 2-1. Akhrib also played a major role in this triumph, scoring twice and thus making a significant contribution to qualification. Chikhaoui scored the only goal for Monastir in the 21st minute.
A look back at the successes of JS Kabylie
JS Kabylie is one of the most successful clubs in Algeria. Since its founding, the club has set numerous records, including the most titles in the Algerian League (14), as well as the highest number of points in a season with 98 points in 1985-1986, not to mention the record for the most goals in a season with 98 goals (1985-1986). This shows that the institution JS Kabylie is not only highly regarded in the domestic league, but also always causes a sensation at international level, especially in the League of Champions of the CAF.
The last time they took part in a major international competition was less than two years ago, when JS Kabylie took part in the Coupe de la CAF could prove. The club also remains the only Algerian club to have ever avoided relegation in its history - a true testament to its resilience and strength.
