New singing talent in Salzgitter: Chuck Plaisance leads workshop!
The anticipation for the 40th jazz and rock workshop in Salzgitter is growing, and with it the excitement about the new impulses that the workshop will bring. From July 3rd to 6th, 2025, the doors of the culture barn, old fire station and adult education center in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt will be wide open. Organizers already have a big concern, and this is especially true for an unnamed musician whose speedy recovery is wished.
A top-class figure in the music business will enrich the workshop: Chuck Plaisance, a native American from the sunny south of New Orleans, has been won as a lecturer. He started his career as a singer and guitarist at the age of 13 and traveled through the southern states of the USA with various bands such as Flyght, Halifax, Antriebs and Voyager. Plaisance has lived in Germany since 2006 and looks back on an impressive international career that brought him into contact with greats such as Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper and Gary Wright. Last but not least, his music led to a collaboration with Chris Currel in a Synclavier studio, further highlighting his extensive skills.
A teacher with passion
Plaisance taught at the prestigious Musicians Institute in Hollywood for 18 years. His sonically differentiated and dynamic voice, which offers both powerful and gentle performances, has been praised by numerous press reviews. His emotional expression and the flexibility of his voice come into their own particularly in ballad-like pieces. Known as a “real rocker”, he inspires his audiences and has also given regular concerts in Germany, Holland, Spain, Belgium and the USA.
