Drama in the Supercup: TuS Jahn Lindhorst defeats Afferde after a penalty shootout!
What an exciting evening in Deckbergen-Schaumburg! On June 15, 2025, the TuS Jahn Lindhorst the Sparkasse Supercup against SV Eintracht Afferde Won 8-7 on penalties. After a rousing regular season that ended 2-2, the fate had to be decided from the spot.
In temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius, both teams fought a thrilling battle. Lindhorst got off to a furious start and quickly took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Nico Gutzeit in the 2nd and 11th minutes. But Afferde didn't let himself get down. Aaron Oefler and Jörn Heinzelmann equalized before halftime (40th and 45th minutes). In the second half, Alaa Aldarwish went one better and put Afferde ahead 3-2 in the 51st minute.
Drama until the last minute
Those watching had the feeling that Afferde was on the winning track, but Lindhorst didn't give up. In the dramatic final phase, Rick Maier brought Lindhorster back into the game with his goal in the 90th minute – 3:3! The fighting spirit was crowned by goalkeeper Bjarne Krause, who prevented a defeat with a sensational save against Jan Patrick Lange in stoppage time.
The penalty shootout then developed into a real thriller. Krause showed his class by saving two penalties from Afferde and thus securing the victory for Lindhorst. Coach Daniel Burk was thrilled with his team's performance, especially under the harsh heat conditions. “We fought until the end and really deserved the title,” said Burk.
The reward for the effort
For the triumph, Lindhorst not only receives the coveted trophy, but also a prize of 1,000 euros, sponsored by Sparkasse Schaumburg and Sparkasse Hameln-Weserbergland. Afferde, on the other hand, can look forward to 600 euros. The game balls were provided by the company TR-Sport. Unfortunately, the number of spectators was quite manageable with around 150 people present, which caused disappointment for the hosts, SC Deckbergen-Schaumburg.
Lindhorst's comeback shows once again how beautiful and unpredictable football can be. The club looks back on a glorious history and its success story continues with this victory. The challenge for Afferde now remains to work through the missed opportunities, as coach Alexander Stamm noted.
Fans and players can look forward to many more exciting encounters, but for now the focus is on triumph and joy - and perhaps also a first little celebration for TuS Jahn Lindhorst!
