Silent Party in the state parliament: Hundreds celebrate the diversity of democracy!
In Hanover, more precisely in the Lower Saxony state parliament, around 300 people will be celebrating the diversity of democracy at a very special event from 10 p.m. today: the Silent Party. With headphones instead of speakers, guests can expect an unforgettable evening that not only sets an exuberant atmosphere, but also sets an example for solidarity. The event, [NDR reports](https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/niedersachsen/hannover_weser-leinegebiet/silent-party-im-landtag-hunde- Feiern-in-hannover-die-demokratie,silentparty-100.html), is already fully booked, but there are still remaining tickets at the box office and a waiting list online.
The Silent Party is part of a series of events entitled “And now, democracy, how do we stick together?”, which was organized together with the Evangelische Jugend Hannover. Event leader and President of the State Parliament Hanna Naber (SPD) presents the Silent Party as a symbol of an open and diverse democracy. Participants can switch between three different music channels and the colors that glow on the edge of the headphones promote a sense of community. In order to be able to dance at full strength, entry is free, while a deposit of 5 euros is required for headphones.
A great evening for everyone
What is particularly pleasing for the organizers is that the event not only attracts young adults, but there are also activities for the very little ones. A caterpillar rally is offered and a photo station ensures that special memories can be captured. The event sets an example for the acceptance of differences and the participation of citizens in political and social issues. Castle doors open to people aged 18 and over; proof of age is required. It is also not permitted to take large bags or backpacks with you to ensure everything runs smoothly.
As part of the Silent Party, attention is also drawn to the fundraising campaign by the city of Jever, which was launched after the flood disaster in eastern Spain. In this way, the state parliament shows that the celebration of democracy can also be strengthened through a willingness to help.
Democracy education for the future
Numerous educational initiatives and materials offer support for anyone who would like to engage intensively with the topic of democracy during their school years. The education server informs about interactive approaches and resources that are intended to encourage students to actively participate. The materials are suitable for different age groups and support the transfer of values and participation in political processes. This lays the foundation for responsible citizenship, which is of utmost importance for the future of our society.
Whether this evening at the Silent Party or in the classroom: the celebration of democracy and awareness of our values are essential. An evening to celebrate community cohesion and raise awareness of how important each individual is for democracy. A nice way to show: Democracy lives through all of us.
