AC/DC rocks the Stade de France: an evening full of highs!
On August 9, 2025, an event that made rock history took place at the Stade de France. AC/DC, the legendary Australian band formed in 1973, wowed crowds with an impressive concert as part of their "Power Up" tour. This tour celebrates the album of the same name, released in 2020, and is intended as a tribute to the enduring energy of rock 'n' roll. In their more than 50-year career, the band has lost none of their stage presence, which they proved once again.
How RTL Reportedly, the band's two main members, Brian Johnson and Angus Young, thrilled their audience with passion, despite being over 70 years old. The performance began promptly at 8:30 p.m. and made a powerful statement with the classic “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)”. Johnson enthusiastically greeted the fans and announced that they would rock, and that's exactly what they did.
A musical fireworks display
The setlist was a successful mix of old and new hits. Fans cheered to songs like “Back in Black,” “Thunderstruck” and “Highway to Hell.” The highlight of the evening was the epic “Let There Be Rock,” which ended with a 15-minute solo from Angus Young. The two musicians presented themselves in top form, while the band offered a total playing time of around two hours and 15 minutes, which was accompanied by short breaks between pieces to recover.
Particularly noteworthy was the impressive stage show, supported by large screens that showed the duo from different perspectives. Although the pyrotechnics and decorations were a bit disappointing, the music was undeniably strong. Fans were given the opportunity to hear their favorite tracks like “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” and “You Shook Me All Night Long.”
A historic return
The concert at the Stade de France was a striking comeback for the band, who last performed there on June 12, 2009. “We haven't played it here for a long time, it's nice to be back!” said Johnson at the start of the performance. An impressive show that celebrated the history and style of AC/DC in a way that captivated every visitor. The new bassist Chris Chaney, who replaced Cliff Williams, also felt perfectly attuned and fit seamlessly into the band's soundscape.
In addition, reports such as Freaking Geek mentions that the combination of Angus Young's iconic school uniform outfit and Brian Johnson's powerful vocals made for many unforgettable moments. The evening traditionally ended with the classic “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)”, crowned by a spectacular fireworks display.
The band will play at the Stade de France once again on August 13, 2025 and fans can look forward to another unforgettable concert where legendary rock music will once again take to the stage.
