Derby fever in Suderburg: VfL meets Böddenstedt after 11 years!
There will be an eagerly awaited derby in the Heide-Wendland football district on October 1, 2025: the first men's teams of VfL Suderburg and VfL Böddenstedt will meet again after more than eleven years. The last meeting between the two rivals took place on September 2, 2012 and ended in a 2-2 draw. Enthusiastic fans of the two teams are already looking forward to the duel, which is part of the 13th matchday of the district league. “We would like to encourage all fans to support us and make this game unforgettable,” said Suderburg coach David Feckler.
VfL Suderburg, currently fifth in the table, has a remarkable record at home: in six games there were four wins and no defeats. Böddenstedt, on the other hand, is under pressure as they are just above the relegation zone with three defeats in a row. Team spokesman Sönke Kleuker emphasizes the urgency of collecting points in order to get out of the critical situation.
Personnel concerns and returnees
The players also have to deal with personnel difficulties. Suderburg's coach Feckler reports a double-digit number of injured or suspended players. Böddenstedt is particularly affected, where striker Lennart Pommerien is suspended. But there is also positive news: Joscha Wolf and Jannik Foth are returning to the team, which could ease the situation somewhat. The worst hit was Johann Schütte, who tore his cruciate ligament and will be out for a long time.
Other teams in the league are also in action. SV Eddelstorf is the blatant underdog in their game against market leader Ochtmisser SV. FSG Südkreis prevailed with a clear 5-0 win against SV Emmendorf, which increased the pressure on the losing team. Behn (16th), Riek (34th), Bannehr (48th), Müller (53rd) and Ahrens (77th) were the goal scorers in this one-sided game.
A look at the table

The season is exciting and despite the challenges many teams face, the fight for points is more intense than ever. A look at the table shows that things are getting serious for some teams - including SV Eddelstorf, who face Ochtmisser SV after eight league games without a win and therefore have nothing to lose. The adventurous football weekend continues on October 2nd with the matches between SV Lemgow/Dangenstorf and SV Eddelstorf.
The derby between Suderburg and Böddenstedt promises to be a real highlight!
