Brianne Beerbaum conquers the podium in Verden – young talent shines!

Attention sports enthusiasts and horse lovers! An outstanding show jumping tournament was recently held in Verden, one of the most famous centers of equestrian sports, which not only attracted local riders, but also demonstrated the athletes' performance at an international level. The big star of the event was 45-year-old Takashi Haase Shibayama, who won the high jumping with his 14-year-old Hanoverian Karamel.

At the end of the four-day tournament, Haase Shibayama and Karamell stood at the top of the podium and won the “Grand Prix”. This is particularly notable as the duo recently competed for the Japanese team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where they finished 16th. Karamell has gained ground not only at the national level, but also internationally, having won the 2022 Hanoverian Jumping Horse Masters for eight-year-olds under the guidance of former top rider Hilmar Meyer.

Young talents shine

Another highlight of the tournament in Verden was the impressive performance of Brianne Beerbaum, a 15-year-old rider from Thedinghausen. She secured second place with her horse Cuddel and also achieved fifth place with Zenzero. Their multiple placement highlights the high quality of young talent in equestrian sports and shows that the future is in good hands.

Michelle Mielke from RV Der Montagsclub from Hilgermissen finished in a strong third place with her horse Vigo de Primeur. Jana Schwarking from Luhmühlen was also successful and placed twice with her horses Vancouver and Ballina. The creditworthiness of the German riders is also clear on the international stage, as the result of the Olympic Games in Paris shows.

Sustainable use for a good cause

What is particularly pleasing about the initiative is that the profits from the charity jumping will go towards supporting the Löwenherz children's and youth hospice in Syke. The TO Group even doubled the originally advertised amount, which emphasizes the organizers' social commitment. Kassandra Mohr, the tournament director, was extremely positive after the event and particularly thanked the volunteers, without whom such events would not be possible.

Equestrian sport also experienced a great triumph at the Olympic Games in Paris, where Christian Kukuk won the gold medal in show jumping with his gray Checker. With this performance, Kukuk won the first individual gold title for German show jumpers since 1996, as well as the 100th medal for German equestrian sport at the Olympic Games Horse Current reported. The German team took fifth place in the team ranking, while Great Britain, the USA and France fought for the medal places.

In summary, it can be said that the show jumping tournament in Verden was not only a celebration of sporting brilliance, but also highlighted social cohesion and the future of equestrian sport. It will be interesting to see which talents will develop further in the coming years and shape the next generation of leaders.
