New parking rules at Rosenwall: How to park correctly from October!

From October 1, 2025, there will be some fundamental changes in the Rosenwall car park in Wolfenbüttel that will affect both short-term and long-term parkers. The city administration announced in a press release that the new regulation aims to increase clarity, improve traffic flow and avoid unnecessary travel. These measures are no coincidence, as good parking space management is crucial for sustainable urban transport.

The parking levels will be clearly structured in the future: Short-term parkers will be offered space on levels -1 (entrance level), 0 (exit level), 1, 2, 3 and partly also on levels 6, 7 and 8. Long-term parkers, on the other hand, have to adjust to levels -2, 4, 5 and proportionately 6. This new allocation is intended to optimize the utilization of the parking spaces and make orientation easier for all users, which definitely shows a good hand in planning, says regionalheute.de.

Modernization with foresight

In addition to the new parking regulations, the Rosenwall parking garage is undergoing extensive modernization. As part of these measures, new LED lighting will be installed, which will not only help improve safety but also increase energy efficiency. The parking garage was completely closed for marking work on September 12, 2025 in order to implement the new regulations. The long-term tenants have already received an information letter about the reallocation of the parking spaces, which lists all the details, reports stadtbetriebe-wf.de.

If you want to park in the city center of Wolfenbüttel, you also have various options to choose from. In addition to the parking garage on Rosenwall, the Neue Straße parking lot, the parking range on Karlstraße and the parking garage on Schulwall are available. It should be mentioned at this point that the Neue Straße car park is only accessible to long-term parkers. So if you plan to leave your car parked for a longer period of time, you should prepare accordingly.

Sustainable urban transport as a future-oriented goal

The changes to the Rosenwall car park are part of a larger strategy for sustainable parking space management. In this context, the ParkPAD process is being developed as part of the EU project Park4SUMP, which aims at sustainable parking policy. The aim is to create a consensus across all stakeholder groups through self-evaluation and quality improvement. The knowledge gained from experiences in 16 cities from 14 countries will be incorporated. To this end, representatives from politics, cities and transport participants are working together on an action plan that sets the course for future development, as difu.de describes.

The restructuring and modernization measures in the Rosenwall car park not only offer an improved user experience, but also set an example for the responsible use of resources in urban development. So it's worth taking a look at the new regulations to get the most out of your parking space!
