Swimming stars of tomorrow: 16 children conquer the water in Schladen!

The warm summer holidays in Cologne are not only ideal for excursions, but also for water adventures. As part of the city's holiday program, the popular swimming course of the district club “TREFF” took place, in which a total of 16 children and young people took part. How cremlingen-online.de reported, the course was aimed at children aged 6 to 14 and was supported by the DLRG local group Schladen e.V. The DLRG provided dedicated swimming trainers who taught the participants how to swim over the two weeks.

At the end of the course, the successful swimmers were able to enjoy some great results. Three children received the coveted “Seahorse” badge and six others were awarded the “Bronze Free Swimmer” badge. These swimming badges demonstrate children's skills and knowledge in the water, although the "seahorse" does not represent proof of safe swimming, so children should continue to be supervised, as shown dlrg.de can be read.

Special gifts to all participants

At the end of the course, all participants received not only a certificate, but also a small gift: personalized swimming bags, which were organized by the committed association Ladies Circle 26 e.V. These bags contained towels and swimwear, which made the children's joy of swimming even sweeter. A generous portion of swimming pool fries rounded off the last day of the course perfectly.

The “TREFF” district meeting is supported by the youth welfare office of the Wolfenbüttel district and is dedicated to leisure activities for families and children. Therein lies the key to encouraging youth water habituation and overall fitness. It is important that children are introduced to the element of water at an early age, which is not only crucial for fun but also for safety when using water.

Swimming training for all ages

The DLRG continuously organizes swimming courses and ensures that young swimmers acquire the necessary skills to swim safely. Those interested can also register for regular swimming training, which aims to achieve higher swimming badges such as silver or gold. Information about training times and groups is published on the DLRG website, as well as on melle.dlrg.de.

The enjoyment of the participants in the swimming course and the positive response show how important such educational opportunities are in childhood. Swimming is valued not only as a sporting activity, but above all as a necessary skill for the safety of everyone in the water. This makes the “TREFF” swimming course a valuable component for the development of children in Cologne.
