Students as entrepreneurs: Creativity inspires at Promotionschool 2025!
The final presentations of what is now the 21st educational program “promotionschool” took place in Wolfsburg on June 14, 2025. Over 300 students came up with brilliant ideas, and the expert jury selected the best eight out of a total of 90 teams. First place went to the “Die Denkfabrik” team from BBS Goslar-Bassgeige/Seesen, which made people sit up and take notice with a podcast app on women’s issues. This award is further proof that young talents in the region can achieve great things.
In addition to the winners, who were judged by a prominent jury - including representatives from Volkswagen AG and the city of Wolfsburg - other teams also received high recognition. The team “The V” from the Otto Bennemann School in Braunschweig took second place, followed by “Next Vision”, another team from BBS Goslar-Bassgeige/Seesen.
Creativity in focus
The goal of the promotion school is clear: it imparts knowledge about business structures to high school students and promotes entrepreneurial thinking. Since it was first carried out in 2004, around 9,000 students from 46 schools have developed almost 2,600 project ideas. Through the exchange with coaches from Wolfsburg AG, participants are introduced to creative work, management methods and how to use AI applications.
At a time when digitalization is becoming increasingly widespread, the success of this program signals how important it is not only to promote innovative ideas, but also to strengthen the skills necessary for implementation. Through practical insights into the entrepreneurial spirit, participants not only learn how to develop an idea, but also how to successfully implement and market it. This awareness is supported by regular feedback from students and teachers.
Award for innovative business models
The spectrum of ideas is broad and ranges from sustainable products to digital solutions. Last year, for example, Team Melan from BBS 1 Osterode won with environmentally friendly wrapping paper that also functioned as a seed carrier. This shows that the young generation is already taking responsibility for the future today and integrating sustainable ways of thinking into their concepts - a trend that will continue to be a strong focus in 2025, as Wolfsburg AG reports.
The large number of award-winning ideas and the ongoing collaboration with initiatives such as #WolfsburgDigital underline the relevance of these programs. Workshops and school projects that deal with the areas of entrepreneurship and creative working methods are also very popular in the region. This gives students the opportunity to present their business ideas to a jury and receive valuable feedback. Such formats could, for example, be supported by the Entrepreneurship Hub, which promote committed thinking and action through practical workshops.
With such rapid growth in the number of ideas and the progress of the participants, the promotion school impressively shows how much creative potential lies dormant in the young generation. Who knows – perhaps these young people will be the innovation leaders of tomorrow. The future is in your hands!
