But Hoffenheim proved to be a resilient team and equalized in the 81st minute. Amy Ampoorter sank a controversial penalty and caused tension.

The match was already coming to an end when the Wolfsburg team built up for the last time. In added time it was Smilla Vallotto who secured the celebrated victory with her goal to make it 2-1. Another important three-pointer for Wolfsburg, which keeps them firmly in the race for the championship and keeps them on the heels of league leaders Bayern Munich.
