Wolfsburg wins dramatically: Vallotto decides the duel in stoppage time!

In the exciting duel in the women's Bundesliga, VfL Wolfsburg beat TSG Hoffenheim 2-1 on November 1, 2025. A dramatic finish ensured that the team led by coach Stephan Lerch remained in the race for the top of the table.

The game started with a strong performance from Hoffenheim, who created several chances in the first half, but the goal initially failed to materialize. Despite having the majority of the ball, Wolfsburg couldn't find a way to be really dangerous offensively. Coach Lerch made four changes to the starting line-up: Linder, Bergsvand, Peddemors and Zicai replaced Beerensteyn, Bussy, Bjelde and Küver. The latter was injured, which made a change in defensive personnel necessary.

Drama in the second half

After the break Beerensteyn came into the game and immediately had a big influence on Wolfsburg's game. In the 72nd minute she made it 1-0 after converting a precise pass from Bussy. But Hoffenheim proved to be a resilient team and equalized in the 81st minute. Amy Ampoorter sank a controversial penalty and caused tension.

The match was already coming to an end when the Wolfsburg team built up for the last time. In added time it was Smilla Vallotto who secured the celebrated victory with her goal to make it 2-1. Another important three-pointer for Wolfsburg, which keeps them firmly in the race for the championship and keeps them on the heels of league leaders Bayern Munich.

Outlook for the upcoming games

Many VfL Wolfsburg fans can already look forward to the next home game. On Tuesday we face Union Berlin, while Hoffenheim hosts Freiburg on Thursday.

With this performance, Wolfsburg has shown a good hand and the possibility of continuing to compete for the title remains intact. The women's Bundesliga remains exciting and we can't wait to see how the teams perform in the next games.
