On October 2nd, 2025 the time had come: the local elections in the Herford district and the city of Bielefeld were on the agenda. Hermann Dedert, the chairman of the Herford-Bielefeld Agricultural District Association, did not miss the opportunity to congratulate all those elected from the democratic parties. The first preliminary results of the local elections were published on September 14, 2025. There was a high voter turnout in these elections. For some top positions in independent cities and districts, runoff elections took place on September 28, 2025 to clarify the final results. In addition, by-elections have been scheduled in various local authorities because in some cases there have been deaths among candidates. These by-elections will also be held in selected constituencies on September 28, 2025.
