SummerReadingClub 2025: Exciting activities await Bochum kids!
The summer holidays are just around the corner and with them the popular “SommerLeseClub” (SLC) of the Bochum City Library! In the third week of the holidays, more precisely from July 28th to 31st, 2025, bookworms young and old can once again look forward to exciting events in the central library and the city's branches. Registrations can be made both by email sommerleseclub@bochum.de as well as via the contact information of the respective libraries.
Take part in a journey through the world of books! The SLC is aimed at participants of all ages and you can take part alone or in a team of up to five people. One goal of the club is to encourage reading or listening to books and audio books during the summer holidays. The joy of reading is truly lived out with creative tasks, short reviews and a team logbook. Anyone who collects three stamps in their logbook can look forward to a certificate of participation, which will be presented at the final event. Anyone interested can find out more about this and current events on the city library website www.bochum.de/stadtbuecherei.
What can participants expect?
The Summer Reading Club has something to offer for everyone. The program starts on Monday, July 28th with the picture book cinema “Pino and Lela on a Big Trip” for children aged three and over in the Bochum Gerthe branch library. Here, the little guests can look forward to an exciting adventure from 4:30 p.m. On Tuesday there will be a photo workshop with the artist Michaela Körner, which is specially designed for young people aged 14 and over. This will take place in the Linden branch library at 4:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, July 30th, things will get really festive with a party with Mario for children aged eight and over in the central library - here the little party guests can let off steam from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Finally, a special highlight of the week awaits on Thursday, July 31st: a pen-and-paper role-playing game from the world of Dungeons & Dragons for children aged ten and over in the Langendreer branch library from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
