In 2025, the Eisenbahnfreunde Treysa e.V. is offering special train trips with the steam locomotive “Julchen” to Christmas markets in Braunschweig, Fulda, Aschaffenburg and Wetzlar. Enjoy festive trips from Treysa with great surprises for children.
Steam locomotive Julchen” starts Advent trips to Christmas markets!
The pre-Christmas season not only brings sparkles into the rooms, but also exciting excursion destinations for the whole family. Particularly interesting is the steam locomotive “Julchen”, which will be setting off on special trips to the most beautiful Christmas markets in the coming weeks. The Railway Friends Treysa e.V. have organized four trips that provide unforgettable experiences. The first trip will be to Braunschweig on November 29, 2025.
What awaits passengers on this journey? The route leads from Treysa via Borken, Wabern, Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe to Hann.-Münden and Eichenberg. A small breakfast is served on the way there, so that the anticipation of the Christmas market is twice as great. If you're already looking forward to the next Advent highlight, you can't miss the St. Nicholas Express to Fulda on December 6th. Here Santa Claus will have a surprise in store for the little guests.
The upcoming trips and their highlights
But that's not all! The Christmas Express to the Christmas market in Aschaffenburg on December 20th is also a real highlight. The route runs from Treysa via Neustadt, Stadtallendorf and Marburg. There is also the option of taking a tour to Darmstadt-Kranichstein. The crowning conclusion of the series is the last trip to Wetzlar on December 27th, where, in addition to a cup of mulled wine or children's punch, there is also an ice rink in the old town.
