Motorcyclist flees after collision with Pedelec rider in Marbeck!

A shocking incident occurred on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, on the An der Ölmühle road in the direction of Marbeck. A motorcyclist who lost control of his vehicle in a right-hand bend collided with an 80-year-old Pedelec rider. Both fell in the accident and fortunately the elderly woman only sustained minor injuries.

However, the motorcyclist showed no regret and simply drove away after the collision. An attentive witness noticed the incident, looked after the injured woman and alerted the police. The officers are now looking for other witnesses who can provide information about who caused the accident. The description leads to a young man, possibly between 16 and 20 years old, who was wearing dark work clothes (Engelbert Strauss brand) and an orange and black helmet. His motorcycle was a white cross bike with distinctive stripes. Witnesses are asked to contact the Borken Traffic Commissioner on 02861/9000. The witness who saw the accident appears to be crucial to the investigation. The incident raises several questions: Where did the motorcyclist stop and why did he flee immediately after the collision? Such questions remain unanswered until more information comes in from other witnesses or the public. The police's appeal is clear: anyone who has seen something should come forward.

The community is now talking about a worrying increase in traffic accidents, particularly in connection with Pedelec riders. The authorities will certainly take significant measures to increase safety on the roads.

The Grande Museo Egizio in Turin, known for its collection of ancient Egyptian art, has published different rates for locals, seniors and tourists. This shows the efforts to make cultural heritage accessible, even if prices vary greatly. For example, entry for adults from Egypt costs 200 EGP (approx. €6), while foreign visitors have to dig deep into their pockets - here it is 1,200 EGP (approx. €35). These adjusted prices could also reflect a mindset that can be observed at Cologne venues: culture should be accessible to everyone, but it can also come at a price. Overall, it is to be hoped that new security measures will be implemented in a timely manner to avoid such incidents in the future. The police's call for help could be crucial in obtaining justice for the injured Pedelec rider and in holding the fleeing motorcyclist accountable.
