Tug of war on water: Borken Indoor Cup delights young and old!
On November 15th, a very special spectacle will take place in Borken's Aquarius fun pool - the 10th Aquarius Indoor Cup. This promises to be a day full of action and team spirit while playing tug of war on the water. The Dragonboat Club Borken invites all sports enthusiasts not to miss the exciting event. Here, the pressure to perform meets a sense of community as teams compete to pull their boat one meter forward to achieve victory.
The event starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. With a total of 10 registered teams from different categories, a varied mix is ensured. The competitions consist of three classes: youth, seniors and the Pink Ladies - a special category for women affected by breast cancer, which is subject to its own rules. The competition format stipulates that participants have 60 seconds to do their best with two large boats.
Diverse participants and exciting duels
The youth category is represented by several mixed teams. The “Julia Koppers Giants” from the Julia Koppers Comprehensive School and the “JNG Dragons” from the Jodocus Nünning Comprehensive School in Borken are among those taking part here. In addition, the “ThunderDragsYoungStars” team is represented by the Witten Canoe Club, together with the “Gdański Zespół Schronisk i Sportu Szkolnego Junior Dragon Team”.
In the senior league, however, teams like the “Purple Turtles” from JuVa Care+ GmbH and the “Seebras” from the Wanheimer Kanu-Gilde Duisburg are fighting for the title. International participants are also there: The “River Dragons” from the Netherlands and the “Dattelner Meerkatzen” from the Kanuten Emscher-Lippe 1950 association will take part in the competition. Teams like the “Pink Paddler Koblenz” and the “TVK Pink Dragons Essen” are available for the Pink Ladies, reinforcing the special spirit of this category.
Tug of war with technology and team spirit
The event is technically supported by pulleys and ropes at the stern of the boats, which makes the tug of war even more exciting. This innovative equipment ensures that competitors can fully concentrate on their team performance. The nerve-wracking competition will help develop a strong sense of community while getting the most out of participants nutritionally.
As the organizer, the Dragonboat Club Borken has everything in hand to create an unforgettable day for all spectators and participants. Even when it comes to sporting ambition, fun and cohesion remain the focus of this event. You could say that the fight here is not just for medals, but also for valuable memories.
