Spooky nights: Halloween events in Bochum and the surrounding area in 2025

On October 31, 2025, the North Rhine-Westphalia region will once again become a spooky zone because Halloween is just around the corner! In Bochum, where the celebrations are particularly diverse, there are numerous events for all age groups. In the city you will not only be scared, but also partying, because there is an event to suit everyone.

A highlight is certainly the event “The Night of the Untoten” in the Prater Bochum, which has four floors and offers different styles of music. Here you can expect a colorful party night that starts at 9 p.m. without having to buy tickets in advance. For the LGBT+ community there is the “Girls Edition” of the Halloween Party at Langendreer train station. This FLINTA*-only event is accompanied by DJane NiciNation and impresses with LED robots. Tickets cost from 8 euros and are available online.

A celebration for families

For the very little ones and their families, the “House of Villains” in the Old Pastorate Bochum will be a very special experience. Kids can try out games of skill here on October 26th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., while access is only possible when accompanied by children. On October 31st there will also be a Halloween program in the Tierpark + fossilium with a magician, juggler and light show. A Halloween warm-up will be held on October 24th, especially for younger visitors aged between 3 and 6.

In addition, there is a Halloween party for children aged 6-12 at the Evangelisches Jugend Wattenscheid, which runs on October 31st from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are cheap here - only 2.50 euros for advance purchase, and 3 euros at the box office.

Amusements for adults

But adults don't miss out either. The Planetarium Bochum invites you to a Halloween program with Edgar Allan Poe on October 31st at 8:45 p.m. At the same time, the silent film “Nosferatu” will be presented with live music in the Rottstr 5 Theater. For barbecue fans, there is an American BBQ Halloween Special course at the Ruhr Grill Academy, which starts at 7 p.m. The cost for this is 125 euros.

If you like dancing and good music, you shouldn't miss the Halloween party at Zeche Bochum, which starts on October 31st at 10 p.m. Admission is 7 euros for people aged 16 and over. In Gelsenkirchen, just around the corner, there are interesting offers such as the Halloween party in the Meiderich car park, which is even free!

Of course, Halloween is not only celebrated in Bochum. Larger theme parks like Europa-Park are going one better this year. To mark the 50th anniversary, a Halloween event lasting several weeks is taking place there, which is accompanied by spooky decorations and a variety of offers for the whole family.

Overall, it can be seen that Halloween is also becoming increasingly popular in Germany. There are so many events in Bochum so that everyone can find a scary experience that suits them, whether at scary parties, child-friendly events or spooky attractions!
