Rotary Advent Calendar 2025: Together against loneliness in Bottrop!

Something good is happening in Bottrop: The Rotary Club of Bottrop-Wittringen has launched an Advent calendar that not only promises joy, but also actively fights against loneliness in the city. Anyone can purchase a calendar for just 5 euros, with all proceeds going to local projects. The calendars are now available at selected points of sale in Bottrop. This fine calendar also offers an attractive opportunity to reward yourself with great prizes - a total of more than 260 prizes with a total value of around 13,000 euros will be raffled off.

The main prizes are impressive: you can win a voucher from Ostermann worth 500 euros and a three-day city trip to Hamburg including musical tickets worth 1,200 euros. But numerous other prizes, such as Bluetooth speakers and various vouchers from local restaurants and shops, also make participating particularly attractive. The raffle takes place under notary supervision and the winning numbers are published daily.

For the community

The heart of the project is the idea of ​​offering community and support to people in Bottrop. 100 percent of the proceeds go to local initiatives, such as the “Christmas Eve Not Alone” project, which opens a warm room for all lonely souls especially on December 24th. The KOLÜSCH – Restaurant der Herzen, which offers warm lunch every day over the winter months, also benefits from this campaign. The “Open Table e.V.” provides warm meals twice a week in the Sacred Heart Church and the “Sonntags Satt” project offers shared meals twice a month for the needy and single people in the St. Cyriakus parish.

As for loneliness, it turns out that it is not a phenomenon that only affects older people. Rather, everyone is addressed - from young to old. The Rotary Club of Bottrop-Wittringen would like to use the Advent calendar to actively raise awareness and involve more people in the community.
