Coesfeld district is looking for ideas for the Heimat Prize 2025 – Apply now!

The Coesfeld district is calling for applications for the 2025 Homeland Prize. In keeping with the motto “Home connects,” voluntary contributions are honored, which are particularly important in times of change. This prize is awarded in the year of the anniversary of the 50th anniversary of municipal reorganization in the Coesfeld district and has a total prize money of 10,000 euros, which is supported by the Ministry for Homeland, Municipal Affairs, Construction and Digitalization of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. The prize aims to reward projects and initiatives that strengthen social cohesion and deal creatively with the topic of home.

Especially at a time when many people are looking for identity and community, the Heimat Prize wants to show how diversity in communities leads to solidarity. Applications are possible now; the deadline is September 14, 2025. Voluntary associations, initiatives and private individuals are eligible to participate. The winners can look forward to a celebratory awards ceremony at the end of the year. Further information can be found on the Coesfeld district website kreis-coesfeld.de.

Homeland prices in NRW and their meaning

The Heimat Prize is not just a local initiative, but part of a larger funding program by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia entitled "Home. Future. North Rhine-Westphalia. We promote what connects people". This program aims to strengthen regional and local identity and a sense of community. At the local level, it is possible to offer a “Heimat Prize”, for which the state provides 10,000 euros each. The Lippe district awards this prize and looks for projects that meet the criteria “Home connects – cohesion makes us strong”. Applications are possible here until April 30, 2025, whereby the topics and activities should be designed across the district and across municipalities. Further information can be found on the Lippe district website kreis-lippe.de to find.

In addition, the homeland prize is also awarded in the Schwalmtal community. 5,000 euros are also available here, and the deadline for applications is July 13, 2025. The Schwalmtal Prize Ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to recognize outstanding voluntary contributions. Criteria for the award include preserving traditions and strengthening the community in the region. The possible prize winners are selected by a jury made up of the mayor and parliamentary group leader. Applications can be submitted here by post or email. You can find out more about this on the Schwalmtal municipality website schwalmtal.de.

The various homeland prizes in North Rhine-Westphalia not only promote a healthy and lively community, but also motivate the creation of new ideas and projects. No matter where you get involved, the goal remains the same: a strong, connected home that gives people a home!
