BVB rejects 52 million offer for Maximilian Beier: A risk?

In the last few days the transfer rumor mill surrounding Borussia Dortmund has once again been turning around. The reason for this is the rejection of a mega offer from Brentford FC for striker Maximilian Beier, which amounts to up to 52 million euros. Borussia Dortmund has clearly rejected this offer, reports ran.de. However, the last word on a possible transfer may not have been spoken yet, as the transfer window closes on September 1st at 8 p.m.

But those responsible at BVB have shown no interest in further negotiations, according to various media reports. A sale of Beier would also result in the signing of a replacement player - and there is a fear in Dortmund that they will not find the right man. The performances of the 22-year-old striker, who played an impressive 2,423 minutes last season and contributed 16 goals, have made him a valuable part of the team. Beier is considered to be intelligent and communicative, and although his market value has fallen from 30 to 25 million euros in the last six months, his development is being maintained.

The situation at Dortmund

Maximilian Beier has proven to be a talented player since his arrival in Dortmund. In his first season he scored 14 goals in the Bundesliga and can look back on four international matches for Germany. The expectations for him are high, but this season he faces a special challenge: Due to the signing of Serhou Guirassy, Beier often plays in a deeper position or on the right wing. Nevertheless, he shows great potential to also act as a center forward, which is loud Yahoo Sports would speak for a move to Brentford.

Brentford are in the process of progressing their own personnel plans and are currently negotiating with Newcastle over the sale of Yoane Wissa, who is being tipped as a possible replacement for Alexander Isak. However, it is questionable whether Beier will actually move to London in the end. A chain reaction of transfers would have to take place so that the chances of a change become realistic.

Transfer market in transition

In the current transfer summer, the Bundesliga season is showing a lot of activity on the market. So far there have been 245 additions and 230 departures. The league's transfer record is promising Transfermarkt.de reports: Income from transfers amounts to over 992 million euros, while expenses are around 728 million euros. Dortmund is the focus because every transfer decision has to be carefully considered.

At Dortmund we are looking ahead to the upcoming season and the challenges on the pitch. Beier has great potential, the question is whether those in charge are willing to sacrifice this potential for a quick profit. The talent and qualities that Beier brings will certainly be discussed in more detail in the near future.
