Culinary diversity in Düren: Happy hour with training opportunities!
Things get down to business in Cologne – culinary! From now on, gourmets and night owls can escape the stressful everyday life with a new after work happy hour at “KoKu” (Cooking in the Arena). How Euregio-current reports, this special offer takes place every Thursday and Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Not only is the palate pampered here, but the demand for high-quality training in the hospitality industry is also strengthened.
The Düren Society for Employment Promotion, DGA for short, has created an exciting menu in collaboration with the “Gastrofit” project. In addition to the popular “KoKu Burger,” there is also the “Schnitzel Tower,” vegetarian pasta and sparkling, homemade lemonade. A real highlight for the end of the day!
Integration and training in focus
But what is behind this culinary commitment? The DGA has been dedicated to promoting the gastronomic infrastructure in the Düren district for many years and has set itself an ambitious goal with “Gastrofit”: to sustainably combat the shortage of skilled workers in the gastronomy sector. This program is aimed particularly at people with community benefit who can acquire valuable knowledge and skills here. DGA on their websites emphasizes that many Ukrainians in particular are successfully taking part in this program.
The “Gastrofit” initiative is financed by the job-com of the Düren district and not only offers training courses, but also supra-regional placement projects such as “Jobturbo” and “Placement Offensive”. So it's more than just good food that brings people together here - it's also an opportunity for personal and professional development.
Updated apprenticeships in the hospitality industry
In a further step towards strengthening the industry, the training sector for the hospitality industry has undergone a profound renewal for over 20 years. The modernization of training occupations should take into account the changed requirements and increased digitalization. This is crucial not only for companies, but also for young people who are looking for a career with prospects. The Federal Institute for Vocational Training emphasizes that the new job profiles will significantly increase the attractiveness of jobs in the hospitality industry.
With this in mind: Visit the happy hour at KoKu, feast on the new menu and at the same time support a valuable training offensive that is committed to integrating and improving the gastronomic landscape - there is something really going on!
