Things will get hot in Düsseldorf on October 29, 2025: The popNRW Prize will be awarded for the first time in the elegant Rhine Terrace. The event is part of the New Fall Festival and is organized by Music Düsseldorf in collaboration with the NRWKS and the State Music Council of North Rhine-Westphalia. Not only the nominees are expected, but also numerous musicians and fans of the scene who can look forward to an exciting evening.
The award is one of the most valuable pop awards in Germany and is being presented for the 14th time. There will be competition for significant funds in two categories: the Outstanding Artists can look forward to 10,000 euros, while the newcomers will receive 2,500 euros. The nominees are selected by an experienced jury of experts made up of music journalists, label employees and festival organizers. The prominent members of the jury include Daniela Ammermann, Johanna Bauhus, Alice Francis and the chairman Dr. Christian Esch, who heads the jury on behalf of the NRWKS. The nominations are not only a high honor, but also an important opportunity for the artists to gain visibility in the media and labels.
The impact of the popNRW Prize
The awarding of the popNRW Prize is intended to sustainably strengthen the local music scene. The move to Düsseldorf is planned to last several years in order to further expand and promote the cultural landscape. In the past, the popNRW jury has produced talented artists such as Roosevelt and Giant Rooks, who now enjoy national fame.
