Carnival session 2025/26 starts: Jeckes Fest in Düsseldorf-Angermund!

On November 5th, 2025, the anticipation of the Cologne carnival session will be palpable, as the KG “De 11 Pille” will kick off the 2025/26 carnival season in Düsseldorf on November 15th. The opening will take place in the TVA restaurant, Freiheitshagen 31, 40489 Düsseldorf-Angermund. From 3:30 p.m. it gets really festive when the Kinderhoppeditz wakes up and the new children's crew is chosen.

The new children's crew consists of Prince Julius I, Venetia Florentine I of Tettau, Page Rick Röskes and Page Marie Sophie Dörnhöfer. The royal couple from the state capital Düsseldorf are also expected at around 4 p.m. A highlight of the afternoon are the presentations of the current dances by the Angersternchen and Angerfunken, which will delight children and adults alike.

An extensive program

The official opening of the session begins at 6:11 p.m. with the awakening of the big Hoppeditz and promises a varied program. Musically there will be, among other things, a rousing performance by the rhythm sports group. The motto “Jeck together” reflects the solidarity of all carnivalists and those interested. The celebrations for young and old should not be missed.

After the program for the young Jecken, the organizers take a short break and then continue celebrating without interruption. The gastronomic partner of the TVA restaurant ensures the right culinary catering with food and drinks - without any cumbersome tokens; just enjoy it on site. Admission to the event is free, and donations are welcome for those who want to help.

Tradition and joy

The Düsseldorf Carnival, which begins on November 11th and lasts until Ash Wednesday of the following year, is a landmark of the fifth season. After around 5,500 participants and 600,000 visitors attended the Rose Monday procession in 2023, events like this show that carnival is an integral part of life in the region. Historically, celebrations here have deep-rooted traditions dating back to the 15th century.

On St. Martin's Day, the Hoppeditz is symbolically awakened at 11:11 a.m., which marks the official start of the carnival session. His memorable appearance and the folklore that encourages the city to celebrate are still of great importance today. The exciting mix of creative costumes, rousing dances and social gatherings ensures enthusiasm among the Jecken year after year.

So be sure to block November 15th in your calendar to enjoy the colorful and happy hustle and bustle with the KG “De 11 Pille” and numerous other carnivalists - let's celebrate together!
