In July 2025, the sky above Düsseldorf will become the radiant setting for a unique spectacle: a drone show with more than 1,000 LED drones will ensure enthusiastic spectators. This fantastic performance will take place on two evenings on the banks of the Rhine - on July 12th and July 18th, both at 10:15 p.m. The event is organized by AO Multimedia & Drones, a company based in Bremen and Dubai that has already staged impressive shows at major events such as the Schlagerboom Open Air and the New Year's Eve at the Burj Khalifa.

The drone show is announced as the largest in Germany in terms of the number of drones used. Usually only 200 to 300 drones fly at such events, but here the spectrum is increased to more than three times. “We are setting new standards in entertainment,” said founder Marco Niedermeier optimistically.

Impressive visualizations in the sky

The drones will fly in sync with the music and bring both 2D and 3D animations to life. From cartwheels to fairground motifs such as a Ferris wheel and a 150-meter-tall dancer – the motifs shown are clearly visible from all sides. Spectators can best enjoy the breathtaking show from the banks of the Rhine, the Oberkassel Bridge and the Rhine Knee Bridge. The images reach an impressive height of up to 300 meters and a width of 150 meters.

The technology behind these fantastic drone shows is anything but ordinary. The drones are equipped with state-of-the-art technology that enables breathtaking aerial photography and ensures safe and stable flying through GPS navigation systems. Using state-of-the-art cameras to capture details, 4K quality resolution is also achieved, which enormously expands the possibilities for creative events.
