Football crazy people watch out! On Thursday, June 19th, the artificial turf pitch at the Buddenkamp sports field will become the stage for an eagerly awaited hobby tournament. Organized by SC Zurstrasse 70, visitors can look forward to exciting games and lots of action. Kick-off takes place at 10 a.m. and a total of 22 teams have registered to fight for the title of “Best Hobby Team 2025”. The defending champions are FC Halikarnas, who will certainly do everything in their power to defend their title. As localdirekt.de reports, physical well-being is also taken care of, so that football enthusiasts get their money's worth not only at the games, but also at the barbecue.
The participating teams will be divided into four groups as follows:
- Gruppe A: FC Halikarnas, „Schlechter Umgang“, „Glasbier Rangers“, „1. FC Reserve“, „Marathon Wuppertal“, „FC Kolonya“
- Gruppe B: „Cosa nostra“, „Athletic Bin Blau“, „SC Raucherlunge“, „Bilstein Group“, „BWV A Jugend“, „SG Kolibri Halver“
- Gruppe C: „Landjugend Breckerfeld“, „Gurkentruppe“, „Kümmerling Killer“, „ReBier Füchse“, U19 des SC Zurstrasse
- Gruppe D: „Bolzplatz United“, „Elite“, „Pink Ladys“, „FC Dauerverletzt“, „Dritte 09“
Play with brains and excitement
The preliminary round is played in short but intense 10-minute games, while the final round is scheduled for 12 minutes. These short games provide fast-paced action that is sure to blow away football fans. A visit is worthwhile for every age group and you need to act quickly! The opportunity to accommodate more teams was not taken up due to limited capacity, making participation even more valuable for the registered teams.
Club chairman Jens Richstein is already looking forward to the matches: “We not only want to offer the players and spectators exciting games, but also create a great atmosphere in which everyone gets their money’s worth.” And what would a football tournament be without the opportunity to sit together comfortably, watch the action and enjoy a grilled sausage?
