A lot is happening in the culinary world on Lake Garda. The Lido 84 in Gardone Riviera made it to an impressive 16th place in the “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” in 2025. A great reason to indulge in Italian enjoyment once again.

The gastronomic pearl led by Riccardo and Giancarlo Camanini combines traditional Italian cuisine with innovative techniques. Lido 84 experiments with both regional ingredients and international cooking methods, offering guests an incomparable taste experience. The atmosphere is just as inviting: eclectic works of art and terrace tables with breathtaking views of Lake Garda underline the special ambience.

From tradition to innovation

Particularly noteworthy are the restaurant's signature dishes, which perfectly reflect the kitchen philosophy. The well-known dish “Cacio e Pepe in the pig’s bladder” is a real highlight, as is the risotto with black garlic and red berries. But the monkfish in a reduction of aged rum and honey and the sea spaghetti in butter and brewer's yeast are also among the house's taste masterpieces. A seven-course “Fluctuations” menu costs 140 euros – a price that is a good deal given the quality on offer.

Lido 84 opened in 2014 and received its first Michelin star just six months later. They are now one of the 18 Michelin star restaurants on Lake Garda. The restaurant also has an excellent reputation internationally and was awarded the “Highest New Entry Award” in 2021. What a climb! The World's 50 Best Restaurants praises the culinary art and even ranked Lido 84 at number 12 in 2023.

A look into the star-winning gastronomy

But there is exciting news from the gastronomy sector not only in Italy. The new one Guide Michelin Germany 2025 also awarded fresh stars. There are now a total of 341 star restaurants in the country, including 12 with the coveted 3-star status. Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of Michelin, highlights the creativity and quality of German gastronomy, which is trending towards more plant-based cuisine and regional ingredients.

The guide will be available from July 24th for 29.95 euros and recommends more than 1,240 restaurants, including 15 new Bib Gourmand restaurants - an award for good food at a fair price. Anyone who is active in the culinary world cannot avoid the latest developments. Lido 84 may be based in beautiful Italy, but the news from the restaurant guide shows that the gastronomic landscape remains vibrant in Germany too.
