Inspection week: Gelsenkirchen police increase safety for pedestrians!
From October 27th to November 3rd, 2025, the Gelsenkirchen police organized a control week that was entirely dedicated to the safety of pedestrians. The initiative had a clear goal: traffic violations by and against pedestrians should be punished in order to increase traffic safety. During this week, numerous violations were identified and prosecuted, such as red light violations by pedestrians as well as parking and load securing violations. The focus was on raising awareness among road users about reckless behavior on the road.
What particularly caught the eye on October 28th was a black Mercedes that was checked on Ückendorfer Straße. The vehicle was technically tampered with and produced noise approximately three times the maximum permitted level, which led to the vehicle being seized. The 60-year-old driver and owner of the car then received an administrative offense report, which is not surprising in this context. The police are in constant communication with citizens to educate them about the dangers of road traffic.
Pedestrian safety in focus
The Gelsenkirchen police call on all road users to be particularly considerate in order to avoid accidents. This commitment is reflected not only in the control of traffic violations, but also in the numerous initiatives that the police offer. This includes training, such as the “pedestrian driving license” for children, as well as regular checks in particularly dangerous places. The police's efforts are an important step in reducing dangers to pedestrians and raising awareness of road safety.
These measures actively promote road safety and show how important it is to be considerate in everyday life. In this context, it becomes clear that everyone can contribute to preventing accidents and improving coexistence on the road. So stay careful in traffic and take the risk of accidents seriously!
