On August 10, 2025, around 3:20 p.m., a traffic accident occurred between two cars on Hohenzollernstrasse in Mönchengladbach. On site it quickly became clear that two vehicles had actually been involved in an accident and several people had been injured. The alarm was followed by immediate deployment of the fire and rescue station I's assistance train as well as several rescue vehicles and an emergency medical vehicle. Fire Chief A. Flugel was in charge of operations.
In total, the emergency services cared for three injured people, who were transported to surrounding hospitals as quickly as possible after receiving medical care. Further measures on the part of the fire brigade turned out to be unnecessary, which saved the emergency services additional time. The fire brigade was on site with an emergency vehicle from the technology and logistics center and two ambulances. This was coordinated by the management service of the professional fire brigade in order to ensure the best possible medical help as quickly as possible.
