Works of art wanted: Hometown Gütersloh” illuminates the city center!

Something is happening in Gütersloh: the application phase for illuminated advertising spaces in the city center has begun. As the city administration informs in a current announcement on Guetersloh.de, art motifs will be presented in December that show the artists' personal view of their hometown. This special project is intended to mark a fitting end to the city's anniversary year.

Artists from Gütersloh and the district can apply until Monday, November 17th. The only condition: They must express their view of “Hometown Gütersloh” in a single work of art. It's a great opportunity to find like-minded people and focus on your own creativity. A total of only ten works will be selected, which will then be exhibited in the city - there is definitely something there!

Application details

If you are interested, you should focus on the technical requirements: Applications must be submitted with a high-resolution photo of the work of art, which must be in portrait format or square and should be at least 3,000 pixels wide. The photo must be frontally and evenly lit. Each participant is only allowed to submit one work, and the application is easily made online via the city of Gütersloh's cultural portal.

The presentation of these works of art will not only be artistically valuable, but will also provide an insight into the artists' emotional connection to their city. Art itself has many facets, as the word itself suggests: The term “art” comes from Middle Low German and is related to the concept of “knowledge” and “skill”. So it is not just a series of colors and shapes, but rather the expression of emotions and stories that are associated with Gütersloh, as the etymology makes clear (Wiktionary).

A call to creativity

The city of Gütersloh invites all creative minds to submit their works and thus share part of their personal story with the community. Anyone who is enthusiastic about art and its various forms of expression should seize the opportunity and take part in this unique exhibition. The end of the application deadline is approaching, so be quick!

In the coming period, the city will be illuminated with a colorful variety of works of art, which will be a great experience not only for the artists, but also for all Gütersloh residents and visitors. It will be interesting to see what creative perspectives on the hometown will emerge. The excitement is rising, and the artistic light show in the city center will certainly give us a wonderful end to the anniversary year.
