Drive Safe Day in Heinsberg: Focus on road safety!

An exciting event will take place in Heinsberg on August 30, 2025: The Drive Safe Day, organized by the Heinsberg police in collaboration with the city of Heinsberg. From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., the market square will be the stage for important safety education.

But what exactly can visitors expect? The event aims to raise awareness of the sad reality of road accidents. Among other things, a traffic accident is shown from different perspectives. There is also comprehensive information about accident statistics and how alcohol and drugs influence the causes of accidents while driving. The event is also dedicated to the always dangerous issue of illegal motor vehicle racing, which is particularly important today.

Insight and enlightenment

A highlight of the Drive Safe Day will be the noise glasses course. Here participants can experience first-hand the effects of alcohol and drugs on their ability to drive. The whole thing is complemented by the presence of the Heinsberg district rescue service, which offers information about first aid and resuscitation. In addition, two rescue operations on an accident vehicle are planned, which will take place at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in cooperation with the fire department.

The motto of the event is “#LIFE is the greatest good”, which underlines the central message of Road Safety Week. The aim is to raise public awareness of the urgent issue of road safety. The depiction of a car whose driver died after an illegal street race also sends a strong message.
