South American entrepreneurs discover opportunities on the Lower Rhine!
The Lower Rhine is currently becoming the scene of an interesting exchange: 30 entrepreneurs from Ecuador traveled to Duisburg at the invitation of the Lower Rhine IHK to get to know the region's economy better. The general manager of the Lower Rhine IHK, Dr. Stefan Dietzfelbinger, emphasizes the importance of such delegation trips when it comes to establishing new contacts and developing fresh business ideas. “There is a lot of potential here that needs to be explored,” says Dietzfelbinger. During their stay, the entrepreneurs from Ecuador have the opportunity to exchange ideas with representatives from Thyssenkrupp about hydrogen as a promising energy source, which is an exciting topic for many.
Insights into the local economy
A visit to the Duisburg harbor is on the program, as is a tour of the high-tech workshop “FabLab” at the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. These stations are intended not only to provide insights into the economic structures of the region, but also to provide inspiration for possible collaborations. The AHKs offer comprehensive services in this area, including advice on the requirements in the target country and the organization of training courses for training staff. These aspects are discussed again by the DIHK which provides competence centers for international vocational training.
Dual training is promoted in numerous countries, especially through programs such as “Skills Experts”, which has existed since 2017. Recently, cooperation countries such as Brazil and Turkey have joined. This shows that the use of opportunities is also being taken increasingly seriously in international education.
