Barcelona meets Magdeburg
In the second semi-final there was a real thriller between FC Barcelona and SC Magdeburg. Barcelona, who can look back on an impressive 21st semi-final appearance, wanted revenge for last year's defeat against Magdeburg. But the Magdeburgers were confident and managed to defeat the Catalans 31:30, which represents a historic moment for the team. After eleven years it was once again a German-German final - a real treat for the handball fans in Cologne.
The elimination was painful for Barcelona, especially since the team has to look for new talent: there are ten departures in the summer that will shake up the squad. Regardless, the title remains the goal, as a fourth EHF Champions League trophy in just five years would be a dream.
The final and the broadcasts
The grand final between Füchsen Berlin and SC Magdeburg will take place on June 15th at 6:00 p.m. An exciting game that many fans are looking forward to. The game for third place between the losers of the semi-finals will kick off at 3:00 p.m. All games can be seen live on free TV on DF1 and can alternatively be followed in the live stream on DAZN and DYN, as Olympics reports.
The betting odds have now also changed like this: For the duel between the Foxes and Nantes, the odds for a win for the Berliners are 1.22, while HBC Nantes is considered an outsider at 3.95. In the encounter between FC Barcelona and SC Magdeburg, the field of favorites is also defined: a victory for the Catalans is estimated at 1.50, the Magdeburgers have the chances on their side at 2.45.
