Cologne Ahl Kamelle” band inspires with new Cologne hits!

The Cologne music scene is celebrating a very special anniversary this year: The “Ahl Kamelle” band from the sing-along initiative “Loss mer singe” has been touring the city’s most charming bars for eleven years. On Tuesday evening, the band started their Cologne anniversary year with the title “Rubbedikabess – dat jitt e Fess” in a sold-out brewery “Em Kölsche Boor” on Eigelstein and created an exuberant atmosphere among the visitors. Cologne City Gazette reports that the audience enthusiastically leafed through a booklet of lyrics and discovered both old and new songs.

The program of this special tour offers a fantastic journey through time through Cologne's musical history. Well-known and less well-known songs from the Cologne song treasure, including classics by artists such as Bläck Fööss and Höhner, were received with great joy by the audience. Let's sing highlights that the “Ahl Kamelle, neu jelötsch” series has existed since 2014 and has now become a tradition.

An evening full of surprises

This year the band pays tribute to the singer and speaker Horst Muys, who was born 100 years ago. A highlight of the evening was the medley in honor of Ludwig Sebu and the performance of the song “Avjebütz”, which received great applause. Kapellmeister Andreas Münzel transformed the sounds into passionate notes that encouraged the audience to sing along. The moderators led through the songs in a charming way and pointed out exciting anecdotes.

Another treat was the amusing interlude with Karl Berbuer’s tongue twister “D’r Raderbergerboorebürgerspillverein”, which was surprisingly performed on six ukuleles. Whether Erika and Rainer Stollenwerk or other guests, everyone was thrilled by the performance and looked forward to the upcoming events.
